So Hillary suggested to me, since I'll have my itouch down there, to keep a blog and let everyone know what's going on, through my eyes. I wish all of you could be down there with me, and those that have never gone and are joining in, I pray one day you get to experience the love I am about to receive. Hopefully it works while I'm down there and I'll try to update at least twice a day, but you know how it goes with the Nicaway. :)
Here are just some things that God has put on my heart for this trip:
1) IT'S GONNA BE BIG. Whatever it is. God has something huge planned going on down there and whether it's bringing another follower to Christ or rebuilding his church. It's gonnna be awesome and so unbelievable. I've heard it from a few other people going down this year, so look forward to it and keep praying about it.
2) These kids have touched so many lives. They truly represent Christ in the flesh and I can only hope and pray to act and let that kind of light shine when I return.
3) There is so much more we have to learn and so much we need to be thankful for.
4) Paul writes in Phil 1:2-3 about having grace and peace while being away from him. Where ever you are, serving is serving and you are doing HIS work. Whether you are in Nicaragua or not, remember: keep living His word out loud.
Thank you everyone! I love you and will see you when I return.
Soida,
Shann
I'm so proud of you girls! I'll be praying for you while you are down there that God would work through you and in you :) Just remember, the closeness you feel to the Lord in Nica isn't because the magic of the country or the love of the children at the orphanage, it's because you are in the center of God's will, living for and serving HIM above all else! You can have that same closeness whether you are in Nova, Nica or where the Lord may lead you! Just remember to keep your eyes on Him and let Christ be your first priority! Let His Spirit lead you and stay close to Him :) I'm so excited to hear the stories of the things to come... You are so right, God is going to do HUGE things with you girls down there... He can do immeasurably more than we can even imagine, so just listen to His voice and follow His leading, no matter how hard or scary or uncomfortable. I love you girls and I'm so so proud to know you! Keep Him first! :)
ReplyDeleteWell said Lyndsay! I have been praying for you all non stop! Hope the journey to Port went well and not a repeat of Miami Airport 08'. I'm so sad I can't be there, but I am so excited for you guys! I know that the Lord is going to bless you and all you come in contact while you're down there. Shann, while I was at work today, (scrubbing toilets and urinals, as well as stocking the CEO's personal breakroom with pop, water, snacks, and gourmet coffees (trying to fight back my disgust for people who are pampered, rich, and selfish)) I thought of the old crew and the newbies walking pass that fence and on the the orphanage grounds, being gretted by the beautiful smiles and hugs. What an amazing moment that truly is! I hope you soaked up every second of it and every moment here on out. Enjoy "Nica time," theres nothing quite like it! I will pray that the LORD blesses Port with sunshine, laughter, and lots of good memories with the kids. I love you and I can't wait to hear whats going on down there! Pass on the love to my little Kat, I hope shes enjoying herself. . . I remember my first trip. Words cannot describe just how awesome it is. And I'm sure its ten times more special for her since she gets to experience it with her big sissy. :) Give hugs and kisses to the kiddies from me!
